Many people often fall prey to online fraud. Scammers do online fraud by changing SIM cards. However, now the government is directly blocking the SIM cards of fraudsters along with their mobile phones. TRAI has tightened the action against people who cheat mobile users by sending messages. In which the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has started blocking handsets involved in such activities besides disconnecting mobile numbers.

Notably, Chakshu Portal has been launched by the government for complaints related to online fraud. Since the launch of this portal As of now, cards have been blacklisted in fifty-two locations for sending fraud SMS. Also, 348 mobile handsets have been blocked. Besides this, 10,834 suspicious mobile numbers have been sent for proper verification. were All these mobile numbers were to be verified by 30th April. Since then these numbers have been blocked.

According to the report, DoT has blocked 1.58 lakh mobile devices taken on the basis of these fake documents. Not only this, DoT had cut a total of 1.66 crore mobile connections till April 30 this year. Thus, DoT has tightened its grip against online fraudsters.
